The nuclear education and training series (organised by CETEMCOM) for Vietnamese university professionals, which was started on 12th September 2012, arrived at a new stage: on 29th of October 2012 the training of a new group of 34 pepole has started at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).

The Vietnamese professionals spend the first three weeks of the 6-week-long training program at the Institute of Nuclear Techniques of BME, where they study the most important subjects and methodologies of nuclear university education by attending lectures and by performing laboratory experiments. In the second three weeks the program continues with practical on-site training at the MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant.

At the opening ceremony Dr. Gábor PÉCELI, the rector of BME, his excellency NGO DUY NGO, the Ambassador of the Vietnamese Socialistic Republic to Hungary, and Dr. Attila ASZÓDI, the director of the Institute of Nuclear Techniques of BME welcomed the participants. They underlined that the participants would have a very busy period in the coming 6 weeks, but at the same time they would also play a very important role in Vietnam's preparation for the safe use of nuclear energy. Six Vietnamese universities have delegated participants from their lecturing staff to this nuclear „train the trainers" course in Hungary.

The closing ceremony of the previous course was held on 19th October 2012 in Paks. Each of the participants received a personal evaluation of their achivements and also the organisers of the course got feedback from the participants about the course. Mr. Pál KOVÁCS, Hungarian state secretary for climate and energy emphasized: „Nuclear education and training is a great opportunity worldwide, and there is an intense competition. Beyond the wide nuclear knowledge and experience, Hungary has a widely recognized advantage with its very high quality institutional background in the academic, university and NPP training places. The success of using these resources is shown best by the international cooperations: beside Vietnam, also Saudi Arabia and Indonesia is interested in the Hungarian nuclear education and training possibilities. The development of the Hungarian nuclear education is one of the success stories of the past few years, which contributes to the improvement of the recognition and acceptance of this important industry sector".

BME has forty years of tradition and experience, as well as internationally recognised, well equipped laboratory environments in the field of nuclear techniques. We are pleased to participate in the education and training programs, which are important for the country and for the nuclear professional community.
